Why is "Non è la mia tipa" also a translation?

According to dictionary "tipa" is a feminine form of "tipo" (so both mean type):

Questa macchina, non è il mia tipa. (I think that would be correct, but I am not sure)

Also "tipa" = girl, chick (sleng):
Avete visto sta tipa = Have you seen this chick ( Is "sta" some short slang for questa? )
