I definitely heard an "a" between the "i" and the "ro"


Me, too. There are always those fine details in the pronunciation of this language, which I guess we'll understand in a year or so.


So did I, but I remembered getting caught out by the same thing in another lesson. Something like "tha mi a' cluinntinn (a) ri Màiri". Maybe it's a local dialect?


This misleading. The speaker quite definitely said "Tha i a ro" not "Tha i ro". I agree with Agatha631151. If this is 'fine detail' you need to tell us that this is the case.
