I feel like Iēdar dohaeriro sylutetaks should be accepted. It's not relevant to the sentence that a particular servant tasted the water, only that a generic servant did so. Alternatively, am I misunderstanding "indefinite and generic?"

If the agent is indefinite and generic it may be placed directly before the verb in the genitive
