I dreamed in Spanish!
Last night, I dreamed about something (I don't remember what), and at the end of my dream, I was looking at the cover of a Nancy Drew book (very random) and the title was The Missing Myth. (The title was in Spanish, I know that for sure, but all that registered was that it meant The Missing Myth. So the cover must have said El Mito Perdido.) Then I thought, "How is Nancy Drew going to find a missing myth? Myths can't go missing!" Then I woke up.
I know, not very Spanish, but a step in the right direction, kinda :) It's the first time I've dreamt at all in Spanish so this is super exciting for me!
Wow, that is so cool! Soon you'll have dreams about people conversing in Spanish! :)
¡Yo siempre sueño en español! :D I loved how vividly you remembered your dream. I felt like I could have a dream like that.
Holy ... I just woke up from a french dream now. we were with colleagues, having dinner at port. I was an intern among them. after filling our bellies, we were strolling through sea market. the water was calm. it was full moon, midnight. I was walking among them. suddenly I heard someone "chanting" something like "mon amour. que je t'aime".
I look closely where the voice was coming from. I saw a relaxed, devil-may-care fellow, kept singing slow romantic songs this and that in french ...got excited someone knows french here at least, I approached the man. "pour quelle raison tu chantes tout ca?" I asked him exactly in my dream. slowly turned his head, he gave me just a smirk and got stuck at it. his eyes were on half-closed state, friendly looking. "tu sais parler francais?" again I asked, only to find out very soon he's just too relaxed to answer anything. we took then our walk together, enjoying fresh air of the midnight... and I got woke up right after.
Funny thing, I saw this post yesterday and thought "cool OUO!" And that very night I had a dream where I was thinking in Spanish and practicing my Spanish! Well, it was more just one part of me dream but it was cool. ;u; Thanks, I think this post might've been the reason for it xDD. Have a lingot ouo~. With love ^w^ <3
Cool dream though, and definitely a step in the right direction! You must be working really hard, glad you're excited :DDD.
I dream in French, Thai, Italian, German, Dutch, even Mandarin! BUT NOT SPANISH!!! Why!?!?! I wanna get that Spanish dream soon! :( :) You are super duper lucky!!
Congrats!, I've yet to have my first real dream in Spanish, but a few nights ago I woke up from a dream in which I was translating some words from English into Spanish.
That's a great start... (boy I'm speaking like I dream in Spanish all the time) but it is!
thats great, its slow coming for me, this whole new language thing.... but i am learning a lot!!!! But that is a step in the right direction!
wow! i love nancy drew!
impresionante! A very firm step in the right direction, hopefully the next dream will have a spanish conversation. Very exciting :D
Nice job! If you can dream in spanish without being immersed in Spain, that's very good progress!
I know that's why I'm super duper excited. I actually might move to the DR for a year for Spanish... we'll see!
Actually, nope! I've only read a few and I'm not really a ND fan. That's the funny thing :P
That's totally AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! The Missing Myth thing is kinda weird but, who cares?! That's super cool and i envy you!
That is so exciting. It definitely shows that Spanish is becoming a natural part of you. I remember when I started thinking in Spanish instead of English. So very cool. Congratulations!!!!!!
I definitely think in Spanish in conversation (i.e. I almost reply in Spanish before I remember the other person only speaks English). But dreaming.... a different story! I can't wait until I start dreaming about Spanish conversations!!
So cool! I'm Brazilian and the first time that I dreamed in English, I woke up very excited!! Now, I hope starting to dream in Spanish hahahhaha
P.S. Your brain will actually work on something while you sleep, which is why it is helpful to try to work on a language right before bed.
That's neat, I'm a southern American where we don't speak English, we speak 'Merican, and I prefer the British way of spelling everything. I always have and always do use British English.
Haha ikr thats why english is hard to learn because we don't speak english we speak 'merican. Makes it alot harder...
Both dreamt and dreamed are shown as acceptable for Past Tense and Past Participle of Dream...
hey guys, I'm pretty new to duolingo and when people talk to me about some sort of tree and how they "finished" it? I'm really confused! can someone please enlighten me on what this tree thing is???
The "tree" is made up of the skills and lessons that you have been doing. (We never talk about real trees on Duolingo, ;) ). When you finish all of them, then you have finished the tree. :)
Its impossible to read in dreams. So most likely when you were in the state, your brain added in the title, but you can't read whilst dreaming.
way to go! that sounds very cool! And that sounds like a great Nancy Drew title, one I would defiantly play:)
Great! I'm an Urdu speaker learning Spanish and it's hard to remember the name of all clothes.
hi guys I am from spain and i would like practice my english and teaching spanish. If anyone is interested please contact me
Let me know what meds you are taking I may want to try them. Just kidding, congratulations.
I remember the first time I dreamt in spanish I was so surprised! I was carrying actual conversation and listening to others talk to each other ALL in spanish! its much easier to speak in your dreams than in real life where you worry about saying the wrong thing XD no confidence issue!
i wish i dreamed in spanish the basic level is even hard for me. im only twelve,
I remember when I had a dream in Japanese. After I woke up I couldn't believe my mind. It was outstanding.
Cool! As a Chinese, It has been the second year i've been in UK but I just dreamed in English recently. It seems that dreaming in Spanish is too far away for me :).
That is really cool ! But for those of you that do not remember ever having dreamed in another language, you only remember a minute fraction of your dreams, so who knows, you may have dreamed in another language without remembering it!
i once had a dream of me sitting at a desk in a room with no windows or doors, and i was continuously just mindlessly doing a infinite Spanish, Esperanto, French, Greek, Russian and Welsh tests!
i literally was learning in my sleep
