Spanish music & movies & how it helps you with Duolingo!
Hey, guys (and gals... but never mind that).
I, being a major Disney fan, bought Disney Princsses: Canciones de las Princeses (7.99). My absolute favorite Disney character is Rapunzel, so Cuando Empezare a Vivir is so awesome! But what's even more awesome is that I'm recognizing words- Like I keep catching amor (love, and I don't know if I spelled amor right...)- no surprise with a princess singing jamboree. I only wish I could have found the Tarzan soundtrack because that has a LOT of recognizable words. Many of them are covered during the first 15 lessons, I think, and many you just pick up. No surprise. Disney has to keep a pretty limited vocabulary for younger children to understand. So, basically, I suggest Disney albums for people on an easy or intermediate level of Spanish. For advanced learners- this would just be fun for you :) I also just watched The Little Mermaid in Spanish with English captions, not really the best with songs because it showed the English wording instead of the actual meaning of the words being sung. Besides that, it was really fun to pick up what everyone was saying, and the voices sounded wonderful -'Arial' sung very beautifully- and even worth busting out laughing for. During my ride to Walt Disney World (9 DAYS!!), I'm going to watch Princess and the Frog in Spanish, and maybe Tangled. Speaking of Disney, I'll be doing tons of Immersion. It would be awesome if I had some help with translating the Tarzan plot (link in the comments). Also speaking of Disney, I'll still be working and everything, but I can't chat with anyone from the 29th to September 7th. Thanks everybody! From the girl who is being tormented by the Sleeping Beauty song...
I agree that music and movies are a good way to practice languages. Disney is a great way to improve and sounds like fun!:) If you are looking for the soundtrack to Tarzan I find if I youtube a lot of things like that its useful also if you have a favorite English song youtube it and see if its in Spanish or Spanish to English. Good Luck with your Spanish studies!
spanish of spain or latino american spanish?? (is best latino american)
Aladdin, Princess & the Frog, Tarzan, Mulan.
Don't try to watch older movies like Snow White or Sleeping Beauty because the characters have a complicated script and heavy English ascent, even in Spanish.
