Filosofía y Letras

We don't really have a degree in the English-speaking world that is exactly like this. There certainly is nothing along the lines of "Philosophy and Letters." I am going to translate this as "Humanities." Thoughts?

I'd translate it as "Philosophy and Literature". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faculty_of_Philosophy_and_Literature_(UNAM)

I agree with Christian. Humanities sounds too vague in this context, as it also includes subjects such as sociology, which are not encompassed in 'Filosofía y Letras'

berkeley actually has a college named "Letters and Science". (meaning "letters" is an acceptable name for an edu subject)

I also translated it as Humanities. That is what the equivalent is in our language.

In my text book, this is translated as School of Arts. I would say College of Liberal Arts.
