I finally hit level 25 in Spanish by practicing every day for 265 days! Voy a ser un dentista bilingüe. No matter how long it takes, keep practicing a little every day. Buena suerte a todos!

¡Felicidades! I'm personally terrified of reaching level 25 because im not as confident in my abilities. You sound like you've really made solid inroads into the language though. Very inspiring! :D

I'm only confident that I wouldn't be doomed if I were to get lost in Mexico. That's about it. I still have a long way to go, but duolingo was a great start.

Jaja si, a mi tambien! (I cant get my Spanish keyboard on iPad to give me anything but ñ and red lines under English words :P)

Do you see yourself laddering to another language from Spanish on here? And per chance joining the Spanish Book Club?

We're behind on this week but that'l get fixed next week :)

My main goal is to be able to work on Spanish-speaking patients without needing a translator. I think I will learn French and Portuguese in the future as well.

I'm so glad you're doing this. Now if only we could get the rest of the medical profession to become multilingual. It really is a life saving skill to possess!

congrats, It takes a lot of time to achieve that level. I am in level 11 (english) and level 7 (french) however my english tree is already finished. Keep with the good work, I would like to ask you what your level of spanish approximately is ? B2, C1, marks like that. Are you better in some particular skill than others (reading, writing, listening, speaking). What is the weakest ?

I haven't taken any recent tests to assess my language skills, but when I took the duolingo Spanish test a few months back, I got something like 4.7/5. I find it easiest to read and write in Spanish. Speaking and listening is tricky because I am already somewhat hearing impaired, but it is still becoming easier over time. I was in Mexico this past May and I was able to tell my cab driver that I wanted to go to Playa de los Muertos and then we talked about our families and school experiences until he dropped us off. I also am better with medical terms in Spanish and find it easier to translate those articles.

It is really nice. I have never had the opportunity to practice my english with a native speaker face to face. I've only make some language exchanges via skype, It was scary at first but very funny and interesting. I understand what you said because I have had some troubles to understand some american series because of my lack of knowledge of slangs and idioms. However I kind of understand very easily formal english from channels like cnn, bbc or documentals. Now that I am learning french it has been more complicated to find a partner to practice with, maybe they are more interesting in learning English than spanish and I have seen that they tend to prefer native english speakers. Again Congratulations for your good work and discipline. By the way I haven't taken a serious test to assess my language skills in english but I took one very short and free and It says that i am C1

What level were you when you first completed the tree? I assume you're saying you continued to play after reaching the bottom in order to accumulate max points. Or you mean you took 265 days to complete the tree?

I finished my tree back during winter break at level 11. It took me 265 days to get to level 25 though.

https://www.duolingo.com/tiangong

i'm at 13/131 and i probably still have a few weeks left to the bottom if i can sustain my current pace.

once you reached the bottom, did you encounter new material in your reviews? i suspect, but don't know, that duo introduces new material when it tells you to "strengthen weak words".

i'm planning what i will do after i complete the tree, and think i will try another tool. i hadn't thought about staying with it.

Once I finished my tree, I expanded my vocabulary by translating articles in Immersion. I have pen pals on Skype to help me with my pronunciation and colloquial expressions. I also plan to travel to Mexico again within the next year.
