Question regarding "sia"

Are both acceptable sentences or does "sia" always replace "e"?

Mangio sia pollo sia pesce.
Mangio sia pollo e pesce.

  • Solved : "sia pollo che" is more common, then less commom is "sia pollo sia". "sia pollo e" isn't acceptable Thanks to dnovinc & fratellingo

For "e" I am sure it doesn't come with "sia" , instead of it you have "che".

  1. Mangio sia pollo che pesce / I eat both chicken and fish.
  2. Mangio sia pollo sia pesce / I eat both chicken and fish.

I don't know which construction is more common.

Interesting because the lessons indicate using "sia" twice. I haven't even come across the combination of "sia" and "che" yet.

The "sia" used in this sentence is usually followed by "che". It becomes: "Mangio sia pollo che pesce".

So is it always "sia" and "che" or only for particular instances.

The common use of "sia" e "che" is the most used form. You can find in some books or articles the use of "sia" and "sia" but is not used a lot.
