please tell me correct Irish keyboard
I want to know what each of these keyboards are, and secondly, would also like to know which keyboard is the most common one? ...or which I should use. (I'm assuming the CloGaelach is the correct one). My main desire is to have them described to me. Thanks!
I have these choices: - CloGaelach - Irish (UnicodeExpert) - Ogham - Ogham (IS434)
... or maybe most just use some other generic keyboard?
I had a quick look at the Cló Gaelach keyboard. It seems very suitable to me. An Ogham keyboard will result in the early Irish alphabet (which is useless when learning Modern Irish, but interesting!)
I personally use an English keyboard (English Ireland) as normal, using Alt Gr + a/e/i/o/u to add in Síneadh Fadas. (á) Another option is to use Ctrl + Alt + a/e/i/o/u.
(English Ireland enabled the ability to use these shortcuts for fadas for me, perhaps that would work on your computer too)
In short, the Cló Gaelach keyboard will work very well.
LOL (that I considered the Ogham)! :)
anyways, thanks a lot for that. I discovered that my English keyboard had no AltGr (the R Alt = Alt), so I switched to an "English (international AltGr dead keys)" layout. Now I don't need a second keyboard. Thanks!
