"Trousers" no good? Nobody refers to them as "Pants" in Ireland anyway!

Can't speak for all Irish people but I would normally say pants rather than trousers.

Well then clearly somebody says pants in Ireland :). Here, people say pants, slacks, trousers...different words for different people no matter the country It's great to have so many options for exactly the same item.
