varken = pig, vlees = flesh. Pig Flesh = Pork.

Oh well, of course, "Ferkel" is another word for pig in german that is similar to "varken" Thank you for helping my poor mind. ;)

Looks there's an etymological connection between the 'vark' bit and 'pork', and between 'varken' and 'porcine'. I think I'll be thinking of it as porker-flesh!
