Easier Language Switch?
I am now learning French from English, and learning English from Japanese (as Duolingo does not offer learn Japanese from English yet so I take the other way around). However it is difficult to switch between these 2 modes, perhaps because I need to make myself "know" different languages first and unlike the switch to learning German from English. Now I need to see the full list of courses first and then select learn English from Japanese. Is it possible to make this switch easier? Thanks
Check out this entry on the wiki (please wait one moment while I test the link) http://duolingo.wikia.com/wiki/Frequently_asked_questions/Courses#If_website_is_in_another_language
Edit: link fixed. This like will take you to the wiki's FAQ and directly to how to navigate to changing your course when the website is in another language. sorry that took so long. I'm still figuring out the wiki's new file path system for the extended pages. :)
Hi Usagiboy7, thanks for your reply! Currently I am already switching languages as you described in the link and I am wondering if there is a faster way to do so as picking a language out of a long list would take some time, unlike that I can "pin" my courses of the same "base language". Anyway thanks for your time!
It is possible you can type the desired language pair as a direct URL. I saw someone mention that earlier this month. I can't recall the URL layout though. Maybe do a little experimenting. If you can figure it out, let me know so I can save it to a file for future reference :) However, Im not sure if that will change your settings.
Another option is the direct URL to the settings page http://www.duolingo.com/settings/direction
