I'm fortunate enough to work in a company that has many bi-lingual employees. So, I've started organizing a Déjeuner Français, about every 2 weeks or so. So far its been great!

The first time, we had one "teacher", and three of us who are learning French. We went over some basics - introductions, and "how are you", and describing the family. The second lunch there were three native speakers, and just me. Whilst intimidating, it was also great. I let them talk among themselves, and listened to see what I could pick up.

Today was another one, with a couple of native French speakers, and two of us learners. Again, a great time, and I didn't feel as mentally exhausted afterwards!

In each of these I can't say I've contributed much in the way of spoken French, but my listening and following along is, I think improving.

That's a great idea! I should have done that with my French learning English coworkers when I worked for the Canadian federal government! ;-)

I wish I have the opportunity have the same situation in the near future!

That reminds me of something I found in a book. They way young ladies in boarding schools mastered the French language was to speak only in French at the lunch table. I thought it a great idea at the time and still do.

Any ideas how I can use duolingo for high school students learning français but are all Anglophones. Is there a way for a group to sign in under one class and can be progess monitored? I just discovered the site! C'est incroyable et tout facile à déployer. J'ai besoin encore de l'explorer. Thanks
