Why would "Elle est une grande dame." be considered to be a wrong translation? [under French adjectives section]

First, shouldn't it be "C'est une grande dame"? And then, grande dame means "great lady" -- right? "C'est une grande femme" would be better. I'm sure a big woman would rather be called a great lady, though.... ;)

In addition, "she is a big woman" translates in "c'est une grande femme",and not "elle est...", just a matter of usage that you will find in a lot of sentences.
