There's an app too, so you can watch the videos anywhere.

ooh, that's right up my alley. I'm not going to lie, I'm dipping my toes in this language course mostly because I am a fan of Danish film and television, so...

I'm glad it's not just me! I want to be prepared in case I bump into Sarah Lund one day! :)

hahahah EXACTLY! what if we open a recommendation thread for films and tv series in Danish? especially since pronunciation seems to be one of the big obstacles of this language (well it is for me anyway) it might be useful to get used to the sound of it.

Sounds like a great idea! I follow along with the subtitles and pick out a few words here and there, but I've heard other people say that it is very hard to master. The written and spoken don't seem to match up in my brain at the moment, so I need all the help I can get. Here's something to make you giggle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vID8NF2L9EU

Hahaha, nice video :D God, I miss Forbrydelsen. Enough that I drew a couple of comic parodies myself (if you don't mind the shameless plug): http://bidonicart.tumblr.com/tagged/forbrydelsen

They're amazing, wow! You're really talented!

The subtitles are more funny when you also understand what the actors are saying!

I don't know what this site is but I'm in!

Coursera's a brilliant site. If you search the course catalogue there are courses in loads of different subjects, from many different universities all over the world.

Why did nobody tell me about that :(

Coursera is awesome; the courses from KU are awesome. I started this course last time if was offered but didn't have time to finish so hope to complete it this time. I just love Scandinavian crime drama especially.

Also Coursera is just starting to teach language for the first time with courses starting soon in both German and in Chinese so it will be interesting to see how successful that platform is for languages.

I saw that they have Chinese, I'll have to check out the German one, it is one of the next languages on my list to learn, thanks!

Hey guys, just to let you know that I've completed this course the last time it was offered & I think it's worth following ;) . How much you learn depends on how much time you're willing to invest (since the obligatory parts of the course are not that demanding) but you'll certainly be more interested in Scandinavian cinema & TV afterwards. :)

Thanks c14p! There are a lot of interesting links on the pages. Even if people don't want to do the course for the certificate I think it's well worth signing up just to have a read though.
