How much work was done on "English for Hindi Speakers" Course?

I want to know how much work was done on this course. How many sentences you had to translate? I want to make a course "English for Punjabi speakers". I will start only after knowing this. And of course, without permission from Duolingo Administrators, I cannot do anything.

I can give you a very rough idea of the work done on English for Hindi Speakers course. As per the latest data, we have edited around 25,000 sentences (including may multiple edits), including the localization of the incubator and duolingo. Work started on this course in January with team members Jiten Gore and Ankit. It took 3 months for the course to move to beta status. The team then gradually expanded to 7 contributors. The course is still in beta, so there is still work left to do, but it is mostly refinement now. It sure looks like a daunting task, but I would suggest you to go ahead and apply. If the duo team gets enough applications, they can task any of you to initiate the proceedings. Best of Luck !

Yes, that is a huge problem. iPhone has Punjabi font but does not have Punjabi keyboard. But iOS 8 update will allow 3rd-party keyboards. Only Samsung phones have Punjabi read-write support. Still it will cover a bigger portion of users as Apple and Samsung are brands used by a large no. of people.
