Hi tgrice, I'm looking for a grammar source to point you towards. I'm still learning the grammar myself since I didn't do enough investigating when I went through my tree. So I'm glad you are asking people!

While I track down the answer, I think you'll find this informative as well along the same lines of ways to say "again" http://spanish.about.com/cs/vocabulary/qt/againqt.htm

Related findings that don't necessarily answer the question.
Spanish adverbs:

Looks like AlexisLinguist has found something though. See her comment below :)

From reading this (in Spanish): http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=251, it looks like de nuevo and otra vez are the most common choices, while nuevamente is formal. :)

Thank you Alexis! I am committed to picking up a copy of English Grammar for Students of Spanish. I have a feeling that having a physical reference book I can scribble in will help me pick up more of the grammar side of this language. :)

Btw was just checking out this discussion where Luis (Uber Owl) was disagreeing with The SpanishDict website about another using of nuevamente.

Edit: Luis replied that they are both basically interchangeable. So it makes sense if one is formal/informal as you said, Alexis Linguist. :)

Thanks, Alexis! I thought until now that nuevamente was solely used in an adverbial context (apparently not the case): http://lema.rae.es/drae/?val=nuevamente

De nada. :) It still bothers me to not use it as an adverb. De nuevo is much easier for me to grasp the use, so it's the only one I use.
