Translation:My parents have the documents.
I wrote, "My fathers" even though I assume the correct interpretation would be, "My parents". As a beginner, it would have been nice to have a small note on this.
megan: Strictly speaking, literally, it could mean "fathers", but not likely. It would have to be somebody that had a biological father and a stepfather and he would refer to them as "my fathers" but that would be a stretch.
Or someone who happens to have two dads, as in they are gay. Then you could say mis padres as my fathers
