" daichead ainmhí uaidh anois."

Translation:He wants forty animals now.

The fifty bears have nearly finished their fight, and Pól really likes these tournaments.

What is the difference between daichead and ceathracha for “forty“?

daichead is derived from dá fhichead - "two twenties", and is the more traditional term. ceathracha is obviously derived from ceathair, and is also widely used, but I don't know its history - is it a recent introduction, or has it been around forever, and just gained popularity in recent generations?
