Words tab needs Gender.

I think it would be very helpful if the flash cards in the words tab showed gender when a noun appeared, rather than just purely the translation. It would also be awesome if you could reverse it, as I find it harder to read the English word and translate it to German... Please add these duo :D

The words tab needs a lot of fixing and improving. There are lots of homophones in every language that are not easy to tell apart without context.

Unless I have a different version, my words option shows gender and other info when I click on a word.

That's true. When we click a word, we have quite a good number of options available.

  • Audio

  • Gender

  • Translation in English (native language)

  • Skill in which this word was learnt

  • Part of Speech

Clicking on more details provides a few examples as well in both the new language as well as its English translation.

that is in the 'words tab', not the flashcards, which I think is what flying4life meant?

Ah, sorry I misunderstood. Yes, I agree but if truth be told I have stopped using the flashcards. They always seem to give me the must basic words while I need reinforcing on more difficult words. Of course if it had genders it would be a lot more useful. And while we're at it how about having it alphabetized so we could find those sticky words?

Me too! I quite like Quizlet, where there are lots of sets of cards and you can do various tests too.

Quizlet has been a great help for me, too. I use it not only for words but grammar tips garnered through the comments on Duo and example sentences.

The currently learnt vocab list is available in the Words tab with all the options I mentioned above. If you are referring to the review flashcards option, it's just that. You review a list of words and see if you get them correct. And like any typical flashcard, they pose the question on one side and hold the answer on the other.

Yes, but I use an iPad so that stuff isn't available to me :)

I would like to see column with translation in Words tab :/. I know that i can click and see more, but for quick overview would be great to see it on one page.
