Base verbale / infinitive

Link : Learning Loom - Home
I have learnt in this last week that in schools in France they now often refer to the reference or core verb word as base verbale , instead of the term infinitive.

I agree with the powers that be, that this is a much better name for this key and useful reference word, and I will be changing all my references to reflect this change :)

Useful. I will remember that when I do another video. I always want to use the correct term.

I think it is a much clearer definition than infinitif, which will be with us for a long time yet, but it makes much more sense to me to use base verbale, and I am assured that is what is currently being taught in many french schools.

Yes. It does make sense. A base verb: one that all conjugations are based.
