First, I hate doing these types of discussion "asking when stuff is going to come back".. But my question is, when will the ability to see other users trees again. I really enjoy seeing other peoples trees, and in my opinion gets me more motivated to learn. Can anyone from the Duolingo staff please answer this question? Thank you.
P.S. If this is considered spam, I will take it down. I hate doing these, but I want an answer.
The Duolingo staff really does not frequent the forums as they used to. However, maybe upvotes will at least get this discussion viewed by one of them.
This sounds like a fun feature, but I don't want anyone to see my trees. They are a rainbow wonderland. ;D
Maybe you could change your preferences, so for example if you didn't want people to see the rainbow wonderland then you could make it so people could only see what skill you were up to (or if you were finished or not.).
So is the middle of my Italian, but it's nice to motivate others like saying "Maybe you should work on your Subjunctive." Some people find that rude, I find it motivating!
Hey Mitchell, maybe you should work on your subjunctive. ;)
You too Alexis. The shame of your tree. :P
The last thing I need is someone checking up on me saying, "Stop procrastinating and learn!" I should have some grace, since I have other obligations than just learning. :P
Yes! And, I keep up the Golden Owl Hall of Fame, and I update the 100 Days Club (shoot, better get to that), and I have some research to do for a post. Dang, what am I doing here talking to you for? Oh, yeah...you all distract me by chatting on my stream. ;) That's why I get grace. :D
With great power comes great responsibility. That's why I hide in the shadows. ;)
Golden Owl Hall of Fame, 100 days club...
What are these? I expect I should belong to both of them! :-)
I would also like to be able to see other people's progress. Sometimes people ask for help, and it would really be a lot easier to offer assistance if you knew how far along the tree they are. Levels can be deceiving, and if you start explaining things with elements that are 10 lessons away from where they are, you'll only confuse them...
I'd find that more useful than competing by levels, because as far as I can tell your level can go up without necessarily building much in the way of skill sets. But if it were to happen, it should be like an option where it could be private, only people you follow can see it, or public (depending on your comfort zone.)
It might motivate me to work on my other trees a bit harder even before finishing the Spanish tree.
I personally wouldn't like anyone to see my trees. But it could be an option that you could turn on/off.
I am the only one that can't see other users' trees if they haven't translated anything? I'm using the userscript on the Duolingo Wikia and I wasn't sure if and how I should contact the author.
