Duolingo is the most popular way to learn languages in the world. Best of all, it's 100% free!

Cornelia

I have been doing French Duolingo lessons for 169 straight days. I have used Streak Freeze only three of four times. Recently, I was not able to get to a computer when I was away and Duo therefore bumped my progress back to Zero days after my one streak freeze day ran out. Fortunately it did save my 140 plus lingots but I am at Day 1 again.

There should be a way to do more than one steak freeze for one day at a time. As an example, let you repeat the process of selecting streak freeze more than once or to allocate the number of days that one wants the freeze. Consider this a suggestion for improvement. Thanks.

While I do sympathize with your streak loss, I really do, the whole point of a streak is to encourage folks to come back daily and practice. Language learning is more effective if you do a little bit every day than if you cram on weekends only. So, if they changed it so that you could buy several days' worth of freeze, that would negate the whole purpose.

Here are a few lingots as a consolation.

Merci :) C'est le premiere comment that I've gotten en Français, et je l'entends ! I do so love Duoligo.

Vraiment? Le première?

De rien! J'essaie pratiquer mon français et j'essaie ecrire plus beaucoup en français. Even if I know there might be grammatical errors. It's the only way I'll learn.

I also enjoy DL, more to gain than to lose.

À la prochaine!
