When is "til" used for "for"?

I've listened to this again and again and I still hear "paten er til dig". Is the k really so soft in Danish that it sounds like t?

Why "packet" is wrong here? Can we say "the packet is for you"?

In this context the translation into English can be either "to" or "for". Both mean the package is for you.
