That's one hell of a sentence to type by ear.

anyone else got problems getting the numbers accepted with speaking? or is it just my bad danish?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Jevgeny

I can never get it past "tredive" no matter how I say it...

Yep, won't accept it no matter how many times I try

So in a moment of frustration i recorded the audio in my studio and played it back for Duolingo and it still says its wrong

Yes. This is infuriating. I have to switch to no audio now to get past it

This is the most sexy counting I've ever heard.

Does anyone have reasoning to share that could explain "halvtreds," "halvfjerds," and "halvfems"?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/DieLegende2

It's a base 20 system. Halvtreds for example is short for 'half three times twenty', which makes sense if you read 'half three' as 'halfway between two and three'

  • Halvtreds, shortening of halvtredsindstyve "2.5 times 20.
  • Halvfjerds, shortening of halvfjerdsindstyve "3.5 times 20".
  • Halvfems, shortening of halvfemsindstyve "4.5 times 20".

That helps a lot, thanks to both of you!

Det var så lidt!

The Danish word should be spelled "hundrede", not "hundred".

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/J.C.M.H.

Both hundred and hundrede are correct.

Cannot get this right

Seriously, what is the logic behind all these half-something half-something the Danish use? XD
