Would it not be more common colloquial Dutch to leave off the "gaan" and simply say "laten we naar huis"?
Why not 'laten we gaan naar huis'?
Is "laten we thuis gaan" wrong? I've seen "naar huis" in a lot of sentences, does "thuis" not work when expressing movement to the house?
'Thuis' basically means 'at home' so you can indeed not use it when expressing movement to the house.
So 'hij is thuis' = 'he is at home'
or 'hij is naar huis' = 'he has gone home'
Dank je wel!
