Do you want to quickly learn the latest colloquial spanish (or any language) expressions?

Do you want to sound like a native (in written form)?

Do you want to see how regular* Spanish speaking people really use esa sustantivo, verbo y adjectivo?

Create a twitter account entirely en español. No one knows or care that you're native language is not español. No judgement, errors, mistakes, or political faux paus. Trust me, you will not be penalized. You do not need to be perfect. Plagiarism is acceptable. I copy, borrow, steal, pilfer frases, palabras, notas de amor, y reflexiones often. Although I can guess, I don't know exactly what reflexiones mean. (f. Hecho de considerar detenidamente algo:) source: RAE

With that said, if you are really passionate about any subject like . . . I don't know boxeo, MMA, videojuegos o moda, chances are you can definitely find 50 - 100 chino hablantes, alemán hablantes, o aún español hablantes que te pueden ensenar palabras nuevas. ¡Gratis!

Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. This may not work for you or you may not consider it fun at all. That's fine. However if you're already on Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, etc. then why not explore Twitter en coreano?!? Perdon, quiero decir en español!

:: 5 Action Steps::

  1. Set up Twitter account and find Spanish speakers by searching Twitter en español. Example: boxeo, moda, sexo, dinero, amor o sentimientos

  2. Follow people. 10, 25, or 100. You can actually stop there. You don't have to participate, you can just enjoy the party.

  3. Do you enjoy trolling the internet? Follow a lot of people. Argue. Flame. Incite. Provoke or just rehash, echo, parrot daily inspirational words. "Just do it" en español. No one cares if you sound like an uneducated kid under 12 or a teenager.

  4. Do you want to avoid numero tres? Follow CNN, People and many other major media outlets that have Spanish specific accounts @CNNEE @YahooMx @HBOLatino @UniMas. Many governments and political parties like the E.E.U.U. Republican party tweets en español occasionally.

  5. Sigue @EPN . . . Enrique Peña Nieto (presidencia.gob.mx) or maybe not.

  6. Let's face it if you want to sound like Ismael Cala, Lili Estefan, Jorge Ramos o Maria Elena Salinas then you should follow them 24/7 on Twitter, Facebook or regular television. Yes, you can become a harmless stalker and learn how to speak, inflect and enunciate like professional news anchors. They're always teaching Spanish speaking classes for free.
