For each sentence we can only chose one best translation - but there are often many other equally valid translations of the sentences. For fairness and equality reasons we like to alternate genders - so for example in some sentences the best translation of उसके पास is "he has" and in others it is "she has".
In this case it is perfectly correct to use "he has the plates" and you will pass if you answer with that :)
For this question, उसके पास थालियाँ हैं। had an accepted translation of She has the plates. Yet when the question called for a typed answer, the solution required के and the explanation was that it was "the" plates as opposed to just plates. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. I just can't figure के out.
