hey, practicing the past verbs I noticed that -ar verbs are similar to present form when used for nosotros (-amos ending for both), and also that the past conjuction of -ar verbs 3rd person (el\ella) is identical to 1st person present (yo hablo present, el hablo past).

Questions: 1) The second is answered by the subject that is referred to and that implies whether its past or present- correct? 2) how would you differ the first case (nosotros), without being given time expression?

Thanks!

there is an accent added to hablo in the preterit => hablo versus hablo' For the nosotros forms one simply needs a contextual hint: today, last night, yesterday, now, two years ago, etc.

it is just because of the "tilde" Él/Ella habló <- past Yo hablo <- present.

Not so. The 3rd person singular Preterit ending in o will carry a ' with it. Same for 1st person, i or e will have ' (accents).
