I keep hearing in my mind the '80's Bryan Adams' song "It cuts like a knife". But that would be another translation, and my Italian is not advanced enough to translate it. :p

Taglia come un coltello

If it wouldn't, it would be a really bad one.

can I just ask why it's ''taglia'' and not ''taglio'' for example? (beginner!)

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/italianolearning

taglio would be used to say "I cut" taglia would be for "he/she/it cuts"

Wow this is really a unique knife if only i had one that cuts.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Lorena_R98

but words cut deeper

Why "The knife is cutting." is marked wrong?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/JewishPolyglot

Is this also a way of saying "the knife is sharp?"

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/jaiirapetjan

No, that would be "Il coltello è affilato."

Thanks! Have a lingot

An earlier question said a knife was "una lama". Are there two words for a knife?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/An_dz

Lama is better translated as blade, aka anything that cuts.

Example:
La lama di questo coltello è molto affilata.
(The blade of this knife is very sharp)

I wrote "the blade cuts". guess what it said.

Sounds like some sort of Disney fantasy

Bravo Sherlock, yet another acute observation.

Uhhhhhh...WHAT?! You're talking to a Sherlock fan here

OMG, I cannot pronounce 'coltello' apparently. No matter how much I try, my mac mic doesn't recognise it at all :(

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/EspaTalia

I don't even try using the mic on mine. What I can't stand is how I can only understand the first few words the woman says.

oh wow captain obvious

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/lordofrivendell

As opposed to... cuddling?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Jacqueline677846

This sentence translated to 'They'll be back in one hour ' lol

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/meandmyshadow0

I put taglia, into a translater, and lt supplied the translation, of the word size

Why "The knife is cutting." is marked wrong?

How Would You Say "The Cutting Knife"? (Either Specifying A Knife Made For Cutting, Or One Currently In The Process Of Cutting, Would Those Be Said Differently In Italian?)

Really inspirational XD
