I og Du

Hi! I was just wondering, what is the difference between I and Du. They both mean the same thing, but why are there two different words for the same thing.

I is plural, du is singular.

As DeroGoi says "du" is singular and "I" is plural.

By the way, be sure to capatilise "I" whenever you mean "you guys" to avoid confusing it with "i" ("in"). Also, there is "De" which is the formal way to say both "du" and "I", but it's not really used.
