I wish there were more visuals. It helps with memorization/ mnemonics

Memory research suggests that visualisation is an easy way to remember things.

There could perhaps be a way for users to submit images to the flash cards which can then be voted on. The most voted upon image shows, unless another is selected.

Please help me build on this idea.

Have you tried Memrise (www.memrise.com)? It works very much like you're suggesting.

Interesting idea for Duolingo, though I'm not sure how easy it would be to associate pictures with entire sentences.

not yet, but in any case I would like to see that functionality included in duo. Reason being, duo already knows what words I need extra work on

This sounds similar to the Mems on Memrise to help with word memorization, where users submit helpful images (most times...), and the more other people use those images to help them remember, the higher the Mem is on the list of selections.

I am not a visual person (in the sense of images), so it doesn't really matter either way for me, but it would be helpful for those that are visual learners. However, I'm not sure how much would have to happen behind-the-scenes for that feature to be created. It took months for the Words tab to come back in a reduced state, then a couple more for it to release similar to its predecessor.

Well, I'm part of the data. :) I don't use images, though, but colors. Anyway, I learn much better by reading and doing than I do by watching videos or looking at pictures. Just the way I'm wired, and I know that for a fact. :) I have to watch a video several times over when I'm actively looking for information, but a quick scan over text will give me everything I need.

My weakest, for sure. Even when I'm listening to a new song for the first time, I look up the lyrics often. I just need that written confirmation.
