Who in here knows Gujarati? I am not fluent in Gujarati although my parents are, but I really think this website should have a Gujarati course because many Indians here in America speak Gujarati.
Who agrees with me?
Find a few people that are fluent in Guajarati and English, who are willing to devote a bazillion hours to developing a course, get them to apply, and presto! A course.
Considering duolingo are putting time into High Valyrian and Klingon, Gujarati seems like a good language to put on here. I know Hindi is hatching soon.
I speak guji (and write it badly) already but I would like my partner to have an easy way to learn the language
Completely agreed. I've applied to be a contributor to "Gujarati for English Speakers"- I'm hoping to see enough of y'all do the same so we can make this happen.
I totally agree with you, a lot of people are interested in learning more unusual languages now and I think there needs to be a course in gujarati. I have learnt how to speak, read and write it and I go to a school outside of school to learn it. I think it would be great for people to learn it from home.
I have just asked for Gujarati on DuoLingo and was directed here. How do I vote for it?
I would like Gujarati to be added here; I married a Gujarati guy and do not speak the language.
Same!!! My dad's side of the family is Gujarati. It is really important to many people, so pleeeese get this course started and done.-I am too!
i really want to learn Gujarati and I would hate it if there wasn't any gujrati courses
I have a co-worker that Gujarati. I would love to have this course to be able to learn and practice with him. Hopefully, there are some people out there that speak both English and Gujarati that would love to help create this course. Hopefully, I'll still be working with my co-worker by that time.
Yes, Gujarati should be here. It's having around 50 million native speakers as well as very big diaspora all around the world. But I don't think it's going to be included in Duolingo in near future because right now it's not even included in the incubator.
I've created a Facebook group called Duolingo: Gujarati Learners. Where all the people who want to learn this language can get together to share resources, experiences and help to bring Gujarati into the Incubator. Natives and fluent speakers are also welcome!
I would really love to see this! I know plenty of people who want to join duolingo if they added this course.
So three years ago and Gujarati isn't a course on Duolingo but Klingon and High Valyrian are? Pretty sure more people speak Gujarati than either of the two fake languages.
It's so hard to find resources to learn this language. Duolingo adding it would be an immense help to Gujarati learners and enthusiasts around the world.
Does anyone know if anyone who applied got accepted to start making a course? And if not, how would we be able to tell that progress towards making a course is underway?
"Our ultimate goal is to give everyone access to a private tutor experience through technology." evidently by asking people to just do it themselves
I have no Indian-based ties other than just my love for the world's diversity and all that it entails. I made a new friend (Indian American) who speaks, reads, and writes Gujarati fluently. I became enamored and only wish to find a course that I could pursue this wonderful language with ease. It sounds wonderful! Here's to hoping DuoLingo will make our language loving hearts happy soon. hugs
Almost everyone on my dads side of the family speaks Gujarati, while my brother and I are growing up in Sweden and speak fluent Swedish and English. I would really like to learn Gujarati since it’s kind of a family language, please Duolingo!
I would love to have Gujarati as a course here on Duolingo because my whole family speaks the language and I don’t. This can cause me to have to miss out on things that other people in life have been able to do, such as talking to their Nannima (that’s Gujarati for mother’s mom). I would to love learn soon because unfortunately she is dying.
