Informal French: To "ne" or not to "ne"

I thought I'd share this page with y'all because I found it very helpful for learning French. It talks about the ommission of ne in the negative (dealing with informal French), something which has been confusing to me but which this page helped clear up.

It would be great if you could tell me if this helped and any other helpful information on this subject.

Helpful advice for those starting out. I live in Québec, and I never, ever hear the "ne" used orally. It is omitted here in informal writing, too. (Informal written French - think facebook, a quick note to a coworker, etc. - is as badly mangled or worse than informal English.)

"Ne" is often omitted in informal French, for example in this beginner video dialogue blablafrancais.com/lecons/une-artiste-debutante/
