Tagalog

Im new and I am enjoying the whole concept of this system. The possibilities are limitless with the choices. I just wish there was Tagalog as well. Where I live it would be a huge bonus for me to know and speak Tagalog. Does anyone agree? Does any know if they will ad Tagalog?

The next phase is user-added languages, so Tagalog would come then.

To help with Tagalog-for-English course

If you speak Tagalog and you want to help create a Tagalog course, please apply to become a contributor by following these steps. Maraming Salamat :)

(1) Click "Help" https://support.duolingo.com/hc/en-us

(2) Under the heading "Incubator" Click "How can I suggest a new language course?" https://support.duolingo.com/hc/en-us/articles/204979660-How-can-I-suggest-a-new-language-course-

You will see these 2 paragraphs: "If you are bilingual and want to help teach others, you may also apply to contribute to a new course. Proposed language courses are considered when there are enough great candidates to build them and learners and testers to help improve them." - "We have a long list of courses we intend to release, and also monitor the forums and applications for new potential language directions. If you want to make a suggestion, we encourage you to visit the forums and making a search for suggestions that have been made in the past, and adding your vote and comments to those existing posts. That will make the request more popular and make it stand out more, encouraging more people to add their votes. :)"

(3) Click "apply to contribute" https://incubator.duolingo.com/apply

(4) On that page, fill in the form: "Apply to become a Course Contributor" "Which course would you like to contribute to?" "Tagalog for English speakers"

I am learning Tagalog from lessons on YouTube, Google Translator, and from chatting with filipina friends. I wish Duolingo had a Tagalog course and a Visaya/Cebuano course, but currently they don't so I am learning on my own. Hopefully they will add those courses soon.
