"ce" for mascular noun. "cette" for feminine noun. ex:

  • Ce pain (masculin)
  • Cette pomme (féminin)

Also "ce" becomes "cet" in front of a word starting with a vowel or silent "h". Still masculin, but it sounds exactly like "cette". Ce chien (m), cet énorme chien (m), cet hôtel (m), cette hôtellerie (f).
