multiple profile languages
Hallo, I started learning French from German (since German is my first language), then added Spanish from English (since there isn't a course Spanish from German yet). My profile (and the whole website) changed to English. French is not available in the flag drop-down anymore..
Now when I add French from English, I'm back to level 1. But I can click on "Add a new course" and can sign in to the French from German course again, where my progress has been saved. But now, Spanish is gone and my profile is in German. To get back to the Spanish class (including my progress) I have to sign in to Spanish from English again.. Is there a simpler way to learn French from German and Spanish from English simultanously? Thank you for your help, Benni
Here's a little hack; You can go back and forth inside the same profile by plugging this address into your address bar: https://www.duolingo.com/course/fr/de/Learn-French-Online and then back again by plugging this https://www.duolingo.com/course/es/en/Learn-Spanish-Online
I believe that the way you have been doing it is the only way for now. I do the same thing, switching between Eng->Ger and the reverse tree Ger->Eng. I wish that the courses could be better integrated, but it seems that the basic Duo design can only handle one "base language" at a time.
Changing is simpler in the app so I do it there. I'm doing both those courses too.
"app" means you use it on the phone, right? i don't, but thanks for the input! :)
If you really have a hard time switching and study a lot, there are some IOS simulators you can use to have the same experience as Ipad on your desktop. One of them is http://www.xpadian.com/ . You can search google for "Best IOS simulators for windows" and there are some pretty good lists. By the way, you should have a fairly good PC.
Nice question! I have to use an English profile for most of the courses, since my native language is Italian! I do the same as you, but I hope there is an easier way to switch between my different courses! It's really annoying!
I guess creating more than 1 account is against the site's policy, so that's not an option. I'm new and I don't have any experience with multiple languages so sorry. I could just promote your post because I want to know the answer too!
