My streak does not update!
Since the new update with the coach, my streak does not update. In the picture below you can clearly see that I made 4 exp today, but the streak still stands at 367 instead of 368 and there is no tick in front of the flame.
Please fix this immediately! I don't want to lose my streak because of the lack of functionality of new features!

Hi! 4bimic had the same problem but we figured it out. You'll want to go in and set it to 1XP to fix this. Just go to http://www.duolingo.com/settings/coach. Make sure to save it. If nothing happens, be sure to refresh the page. If nothing, try logging out, emptying your browser cache, and then logging back in. I hope this helps!
PS It is a good idea to get at least 1XP in every language (and check the coach settings when you switch over to them) while everyone is figuring out which streak system has come along with the web coach feature.
I'm thinking that this may be a mistake on duolingo's part. I'd be surprised if they meant to not advance the overall streak if a languages coach streak isn't met.
It seems you only have to achieve the streak in one language? If so, I think there must be an error somewhere. People going to be mighty mad if they start loosing their streaks :)
(I haven't enacted my coach yet, and I'm thinking maybe I should wait until this all gets figured out. As it stands, my streak is behaving normally).
I don't think that's a mistake. That's kind of what a daily goal is for. You set a goal, you either meet it or not. If you meet it, you are rewarded. Else penalized. However, this will not work as intended since people become more zealous of their streak after it reaches a high value and thus will be forced to keep the daily goal as 1 to maximize the chances of continuing the streak with least effort (for various justified/unjustified reasons) thereby defeating the whole purpose of the Coach.
Duolingo used to list your streak for each language and list an overall streak (the flame) for all your languages. Since coach is language specific, it makes since that coach should react like the language streak. If you don't meet your coach streak requirement, you lose your language streak, but not your overall (as long as you reach the 1XP requirement in any language).
If it doesn't end up working this way, like you said, most people won't try to challenge themselves with the coach mode over fear of losing their overall streak, which will make the whole coach thing basically pointless.
I think that is not the case now as the Coach is overall. But let's say someone is learning 2 languages and have set the goal of 10 in each but just complete 1 XP only in each language. They are not meeting the goals in either of the languages. In such a case, should their overall streak continue? It's like someone failed to qualify in all individual subjects, but still passed the exam :)

So, then, it's not a "migration" from the iOS version where coaches are language specific. The daily "normal" streaks used to count independent of the coach(es). If it's a global setting, I'd pass even if I were in the test group.
I would just like to confirm what Usagi said, the Official Statement confirms 'coach mode' works this way.
If you set coach to 50, and get 49 points in a day, you lose your streak.
Please ignore any other ramblings I may have made.
I'm having the same problem and I must not be fixing it right. Changed settings, cleared cache, logged out and in.
The money for streaks is only for a test group. The suggestion came from so many people in the community that Duolingo is testing out to see whether or not it is a good idea. Whatever you are experiencing would be happening regardless of whether or not you were in the test group. You can ask for a refund by going to the Help page (https://www.duolingo.com/help) and filling out the form at the bottom.
Here are some things that might be causing loss of streak: if you experience interruptions in your internet connection. Duolingo has a hard time consistently transferring data of lessons once you reconnect with the internet (or consistently doing it in a timely fashion). Sometimes interruptions happen very quickly and so you might not notice it.
If your time zone is not synced up properly and so your day is resetting at a time other than midnight.
If you are starting your lesson just before midnight but finishing the lesson after. (Or for whenever your day resets.)
Not having a Streak Freeze installed before any of these things occur.
Equipping a Streak Freeze but not noticing it activating and so not replacing it when needed.
I hope these tips help!
