No geniuses, but translators! You get a much better point harvest through Immersion than through lessons.

I took a look at the immersion section, and i can't figure out how it works. i mean do you have to translate stuff from the web and upload it to duolingo? and where do you find things to translate ? i would love to do it of course !

Click on Immersion / New / scroll down until you find a text which has not been completely translated yet (look at the little round with numbers beneath: if the round is all white, the article is all yours for translation; if the round is partly grey, click on the title of the article, then click on every sentence one after another: if somebody has already translated that sentence, you can vote "looks fine" and get a point; if you correct (in good French) a mistake, you get points; if nobody has translated it, you can work on it and get points: the longer the sentence, the more points.

If you want to try it now, try the text titled NEURINOME.

thanks for the explanation, it looks fun, and i need some practice anyway. but, do i get to translate something that it's not on duolingo.. like something completely new ? for instance something about soccer, or neurology. I translate better when i'm in my comfort zone !

yes, you can import articles of your choice, provided they come from the net and are free. The main source is Wiki because you can publish whatever you want. On the main "immersion" page, you may click on the blue button "add a document" at the upper right corner then enter the link of the article you preselected then it's all yours.
