Hey guys. I think the best way to improve your language skills is by watching movie. I'm a Vietnamese, people here rarely speak - or even know Spanish. Therefore,I have no idea how to find a source for Spanish Movies. By the way,I'm really grateful if you guys can give me some types of Spanish Self-Studying Books ( Gramma or something ) which can be downloaded from the Internet or bought from Amazon. Thank you so much.

Welcome :) There is also the Spanish version of "His Dark Materials Trilogy" and I think you can also find translations of most works by JRR Tolkien. Good luck!

Yes. Harry Potter comes in all sorts of languages. The series "Dune" by Frank Herbert is really good too. I think it comes in Spanish.

You have internet access then you have access to a fairly unlimited library of Spanish movies for free (gratis). Surprisingly, YouTube has many dubs of popular American films, old Mexican films, Argentinian or Chilean films and telenovelas uploaded in YouTube. Some of the video have subtitles in several languages.

Books. You can find many children's books in Spanish (free) Children's Library and many classics translated into Spanish.

If you want Grammar books from Amazon just search "Spanish grammar." Check out this book Just Enough Spanish Grammar Illustrated

I've used several of the 'Practice Makes Perfect' grammar books for Spanish and I'd recommend them. There's a whole series of them.

"La Casa en la calle Mango" isn't terribly long and it's very real... you love the characters by the end. I have "Cien años de soledad", but it isn't quite completed yet. :) 'Amores Perros' was just recommended to me, so we will both have to try that one! x

I believe "Cien años de soledad" would not be easy to read for someone who just have learned Spanish :)

Yeah, it's a task, but from what I have heard, definitely worth it. I haven't completed it myself, but you might be a much better reader! :)

I've already read it in Russian (and also recently re-read "No-one writes to the colonel" in Ukrainian.) Maybe somtimes I will read them in Spanish, but that would take significantly more effort then EN -> ES and ES -> EN trees :)

If you have an Android /iOS tablet you may want to try Play Tales. The only reason why I'm suggesting that company is because they're cheaper. They basically provide interactive read along books. You can listen to the children's book or read it.

I use free "BlueStacks" android simulator to run android apps on my windows 7 laptop pc. I use mostly free apps and most of them run quite well. But beware there is always a chance that a particular app might not work with it, in case you wanted to buy apps.
