Translation:An enemy yesterday can be a friend today.
Yesterday's enemy can be today's friend !! - sounds so much nicer. Nothing like a pithy aphorism!! Not accepted yet though.
It should be accepted in my view. It appeared to accept "yesterday's enemy", then reject "today's friend" even though the italian onstruction seemed to be the same in both cases. Have reported.
Dl rarely seems to accept "may" instead of "can" (this is not the first time for me...) Is it just their mistake, or am I missing something?
This is now accepted. I am inputting instances of "may" where applicable, so report it if you see it.
Is the audio pronunciation of "essere" how an Italian speaker would really sound? she seems to drop the last sylabble. I am trying to learn more by listening than reading.
