That is how I accelerated learning German. I put away the translator and just went for it. Sure I made mistakes along the way, but I learned in the process. Nicht nachlassen!

You would rather say "ich bin Deutscher/Deutsche" (depending on your gender). "Ich bin deutsch" sounds odd.

Grabstein: means gravestone, tombstone

There is only one slight mistake: "einen Kürbis schnitzen" is accusative, so it has to be "einen" instead of "ein".

Thanks. I saw that myself, but for some reason I wasn't able to edit what I wrote. Instead it erases all the text when I click on edit. Maybe I'll try copying and pasting into the edit window. Edit: That worked, but it is a very cumbersome way to edit. ; )
