Duolingo is the most popular way to learn languages in the world. Best of all, it's 100% free!

Great free sites for chat or video conversation?

Since there is no one here in our place that I can practice my language learning (Spanish) maybe you know some sites that I can practice it.

Try verbling.com. Although it's paid language learning site, there are free speaking rooms you can join in at any time.

I have had good experiences with http://www.verbling.com/community (group chat, all you need is a Google+ account) and http://ConversationExchange.com (create an account and profile, then search for penpals or video chat pals based on shared interests).

Thanks Irtward! I've tried those and they were great sites for my learning except for my first video chat mate in Verbling, he blocked me. lol

Ha! I have only been blocked once in Verbling. We had a really decent group chat going on and some folks (three or four) came in SCREAMING IN ALL CAPS in some other language and then blocked us (or at least me). Irritating. You get childish behavior everywhere, it seems.

Other than that, though, my Verbling experiences have been mostly positive.

A couple of times there have been a few adolescent dudes trying to flirt with anything remotely female, but usually the chat rooms have very interesting conversations about culture, food, travel, economics, sports, education...

I know www.sharedtalk.com , www.conversationexchange.com , www.interpals.net , www.italki.com but I have never used any of them. So I don't know if they are great or not, but I think it's worth trying some of them :)

Thanks for the info! Btw how does it feels like learning those languages at the same time? And do you take notes in your learning?

And I forgot to mention that I've tried the italki already and it is not free. :)
