I talk to my cat in Spanish all the time. It's a great way to practice with a non-judgmental audience. Or as non-judgmental as any cat gets. {grin}

Qué quiere? Quiere pollo? No puede comer pescado, tiene un alergia. (Yes, I use the formal you to my cat. And yes, my cat is allergic to fish.)

Do you take your cat with you when you travel? I only ask because of what I read on your profile.

Yes, my cat goes to Costa Rica with me. She loves the weather. As a tortoiseshell cat (una gata tortuga, black and orange with no white) she's considered particularly handsome there--it's a popular color in Costa Rica.

she sounds pretty

She's very pretty, yes, but also very old. She's 18--we think. We adopted her 4 years ago when she was 14 from a neighbor who was no longer able to take care of her due to the cat's and the owner's health problems.

She is the calmest cat you've ever met. She rides in the airplane with us, which means that she has to go through security with me. I carry her through the metal detector in my arms and her carrier does through the X-ray. She surveys the airport like she's the new queen, graciously waving at her subjects. We occasionally have to pose for photos from people who can't believe a cat is that calm.

When I had to take my cat through the metal detector, she sunk all four paws worth of claws into me, so I couldn't get away. Ouch!

My Spanish is mostly Costa Rican, and they don't use tú much. That's also the case in Colombia, right?

Mi español es principalmente de Costa Rica y no usan tuteo mucho. También es el caso en Colombia, ¿verdad?

Yes, but just in the Andean Region. Tico Spanish sounds a little like Colombian Spanish.

La mayoría usan tuteo en sus conversaciones en duolingo así que también lo hago. Espero que me recuerdo que no lo debería hacer cuando regreso a Costa Rica.

Most people use tuteo in their Duolingo posts, so I do it too. I hope I remember that I shouldn't when I go back to Costa Rica.

Me too :) Sometimes I use usted in Duo, and I think "oops, I have to use tú", then they respond me: "Lo siento si lo ofendí por usar 'tú'"... it's a bit hard to explain that I use usted in informal situations.

I think it would be "Mi gato y yo nos vamos a acostar" or "Mi gato y yo vamos a acostarnos".

It would be as Irtward says, and then "Hemos terminado por hoy/ eso fue todo por hoy".

But be careful in which situation you use "acostarse", because it has a sexual connotation, too (means something like "get laid").

Are you talking about the cat in your profile pic? it looks so cuuute! :3. I think in Spanish it would be something like "Mi gato(a) y yo vamos a dormir, y es todo por hoy". Que pases buenas noches! ;).
