Can't see language level.
Since the redesign with the daily XP goal I have been unable to see my language level...or how many points I need to reach the next one.
Am I missing something? Anyone else having this problem?
Thanks for your help :)
I too can no longer see my XP scores and I miss seeing them. They were a motivating factor for me. Bring them back. Sometimes when I'm getting close to finishing a level it really gets me going to finish the level I am on. The suggestions here are of no help. I have gone to my profile to check them but am still unable to see them.
Mmm... something has changed very recently. When I wrote my other comments it was still possible to see per-language scores even though the progress bars were missing. Things seem to be changing quickly so there is some hope that they will take a turn for the better soon.
I found the simplest way is to just click on the "all time" points and it gives me my points for the level I am on. Thanks for the other information anyway.
That gives you the total for all languages you are studying. Based on the flags beside your name you have completed some English lessons, and given you are level 8 in English, your true Spanish point score will be somewhere between 1125-1650 points less than your "all-time" score.
For those who can't find their level, it is easy. Go to Settings on the desktop website, then go to Learning Language, click on "Reset or Remove languages" it is in small grey text. You aren't actually resetting or removing, that's just where it shows your levels.
It's kind of disappointing that we have to go out of our way to check something that should be on the main page or something. Not saying this because I miss the old Duolingo, I'm a pretty new user.
So, uhh, l e v e l c h e c k
EDIT: That's crazy, my french is pretty good but I wouldn't say level 17?
Just wondering if I've levelled up and if I need to post a new comment to see it...
Same. The only way is to check your experience in a language and convert it to a level using a chart on the forums.
Oh man this is great, it even has all the tips and grammar listed. Thank you so much!
Ah that is a shame that the levels have disappeared. My wife and I were racing to the next level. She is ahead by one. Now we have no goal and the competition has ended and we will have to find another game ..
Ah funny the level appears on a flag next to the comment. Perhaps updates of the site for a day? .. maybe I should just leave a comment here whenever we want to see it. LOL, there is a flag on the top bar showing the languages studied, that would be an excellent place to show the level also.
I really can't work out what level I'm on so posting here to see if it shows up. First post ever!!
I can only see my crown level and not my actual level. The only time I can see my level is when I post a comment like this one.
One way to see your levels is to go onto settings, then learning language, then reset or remove languages. This works on my laptop but i'm not sure if it works on phones. I hope this helps :)
This works :), thanks LivWitt1! It's a shame it's no longer as easy to check one's level or how many XPs are needed to reach the next level.
Thanks for this tip.. I was a wee bit nervous to press.. reset or remove languages... but when I did, it took me to a page that showed my levels... and then it was possible to press cancel... or.... remove or reset a language.. Of course I cancelled as I do not want to loose my results
Duolingo, why can't we easily see our level or the amount of XP needed for the next level anymore???
They should add the level to the 'languages studied' flag icons found on the top bar, just as they put them in the flags on the comments.
Soo0o0o I just discovered something. If you want to see your level on your languages, WITHOUT posting here, you can go to Settings > Learning Language > Reset or Remove Languages. It shows you the level of each language you're on. Not sure if this was already posted, but seeing that people are still posting here to see their level, I figured I'd post this for visibility. Hope this helps everyone!
I believe you can still see your per language XP scores in your profile:
Right now you are at level 13 and have 5889 points in French. With the help of josephfloretta's table in this discussion:
and some trivial arithmetic you can work out how many points you need to reach the next level: only 111. With a bit of effort you could reach level 14 today. Good luck!
No levels are listed there for me. It just shows total points. They should add the level next to the flag icons wherever they appear, as they do in the comments. For example on the top bar where they have the languages studied flag.
It is one of the current limitations of the Coach Feature. Hopefully it will return in the future.
No, Duolingo is testing how successful it is. Some people have it and others don't. If it turns out that people perform worse with the coach feature then it might be altered or even removed.
❤❤❤❤❤❤ it's really helping me. I guess that should be a good thing. But I want my levels back!
As I say in my other comment, there is still a lot of information in your profile and the level thresholds are public knowledge. Perhaps it was seeing the little yellow line move from one level to the next that was a motivating factor for you. In which case draw your own on a piece of graph paper and update it as you progress. :-)

Edit: Or try this: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/4914732
I HATE the coaching feature. I am here because I am a self-motivated learner; I don't need some owl popping in and interrupting my progress when I'm on a roll.
Also, I am motivated by seeing my progress in the form of levels. It is VERY frustrating that our levels and "experience needed" to level up are not part of the regular display anymore.
I can't see them either. It is annoying. I think a few options have disappeared as I can't access this forum either via my profile. I had to Google this externally.
It seems the level is shown next to the name of anyone who comments. So I'll just write this comment now to see my own level :P
Thanks for this thread, I've been trying to find my stats on android site... nothing! And even with this I haven't a clue how far I am from my goals :-(
I'm online trying to figure out how far I am compared to other people, but I am unsure how to figure out what level I am. Is there any way to currently tell? Edit: the only way that I know of right now is to look at your level right after you post something.
I hope I will see them if I post a comment. I can actually, this is ridiculous
I know I think you can only see it through comments, but that's the only way I've seen it so far, I would hope there is a better way.
Everyone here checking their level, so ditto! I hope this issue actually gets resolve soon ^-^
This quick workaround has surprisingly remained effective for 2 months and counting:
Thank you. At least I don't need to come here and post a comment again and again. :D
I cant see my XPs either, however, I can see them on the Android app. I can check it there, whenever I want.. ;)
I just found another way! if you are on a computer you can go over beside your lingots to your profile thing. if you hover over that you need to go down to "your profile" it will take you to a page and you will see your levels for all your languages. Edit: it is also something to know that these chats do not auto update
I think that I found a way to find your level, on the Duolingo website then on the achievements, click on see all or something like that and at the top, it will say your level
I can't see my level there :( only XP score. I had an email today to say I was near a new level, but no where on the website or app shows level >_
when my wife searches for this discussion by the exact title, "Can't see language level", search does not return this discussion. When I give her the link, and she is logged in, and clicks on the link, she is sent to a different discussion, one about flirting. What gives? Is this topic being buried?
Duolingo has a help page on 'crown levels' and talks about skill trees, but it does not elaborate. Are crowns replacing levels? Are they skill specific? If so, how do I see crowns vs. skills?
too late to the game but i was wondering why people had language levels with their comments and where i can find mine?, they should bring it back.
As of right now, it looks like you just have to comment and look at the level next to each of your flags
Level check, check, one two, one two. Duolingo, are you listening??? People are trying to make a fair point here...
