Francach is a headless variant of luch Fhrancach "French/Frankish mouse" - as rats were introduced from the continent to the islands. Just in case any French duolingoers take offence :D

Since this uses the copula, wouldn't it technically mean "She is an Italian (person) but he is a French person/Frenchman"?
