help with translation logistics

Hi. I don't think my previous post on this topic posted.

I am new here. Can someone point me at directions for how to do the translation/immersion function? I can't figure out how to make that work. Thanks.

There are endless threads debating how people like to use it but I'm not sure there are any instructions as such. If you got to the immersion tab, you'll see lists of available documents. If you haven't used it yet, you can sort by most recent uploads vs most active. Pick a title that sounds interesting and click on it.

The black sentences have been translated. The blue are thus far untouched. Green sentences are ones you wrote or checked. Put the mouse over a sentence you can read and click on it.

If it was black, you'll see someone's translation, which you can check and click 'looks right' or 'looks wrong', or you can edit it. Clicking 'looks wrong' causes angst, so most people save it for trolls. If it's right, click to say so. If it looks wrong, click the edit button and fix it.

If the sentence was blue, you'll get a box into which you can type the translation.

When you are finished with that sentence you rather clumsily have to click 'back' to get back to the rest of the document. This is a bad recent development, so let's hope it goes away again before too long.

If you can't see anything you like, you can upload something that is either your own text on your own website, or you can upload something that is in the public domain (i.e. something like a wikipedia page which is free for anyone to use under a creative commons policy.
