I feel "the body" should also be accepted.
It's true that we use "body" to refer to a corpse when it is understood that someone is dead. But it is a bit of a euphemism. "Corpse" and "cadaver" are definitely more precise translations of "cadáver."

I believe it'd work too.
Why is there an accent on the second "a" of cadaver? The inflection would normally fall on the the second-to-last syllable, so it seems superfluous. Can someone explain?
