Bulgarian for duolingo
I'm interested in adding Bulgarian to duolingo. However, I don't want to do it if there are not going to be any people using the language so I was curious to see if anyone was interested in helping contribute (I have not started it yet) or learning the language.
Здравейте на всички! I am native Bulgarian and I'd like to contribute for adding Bulgarian language to Duolingo, because there are obviously peoply that are eager to learn it, aswell there are Bulgarian that want/need to learn English but don't have the money or time to spend in courses. However Duolingo is awesome platform for learning foreign languages due to being free and enabling to people to use it whenever they have free time to do so. Also it all depends on their own willingness and pace to learn the language. Just awesome these days!
Carry on! BC
I really hope the course gets started; I just applied for a couple of courses.
- Bulgarian for English
- Bulgarian for Ukrainian
- English for Bulgarian
- Ukrainian for Bulgarian
Have you received any feedback? :)
If you haven't already, you may consider applying to the Ukrainian for English speakers course, as that course seems to have a problem with inactive contributors.
It would be wonderful, if there was a Bulgarian for Ukrainian speakers course on Duolingo. :) How did you learn Bulgarian? Can you recommend me some websites?
Було б чудово, якби на Дуолінго був курс болгарської для українців. :) Як ти вивчив болгарську? Можеш порадити які-небудь сайти для її вивчення?
I am native Bulgarian and I'm very happy that people are interested in learning Bulgarian. If I could help in adding of my language to Duolinguo, I surely will.
Just leaving a comment to give the post a bump, there are about 5 huge posts pushing for Bulgarian to be added, and clearly a lot of interest!
Please everyone keep calling for the course to be accepted; with Russian in Beta, the Cyrillic alphabet hurdle has already been cleared, and I know from browsing these threads that there are at least 3 dedicated Bulgarians with language teaching and software skills all willing to take on the challenge.
Thanks again for your enthusiasm,. please make it happen! :)
Considering I voted for it on the last survey, that would have to be a big yes to learning it from me. I'm really into roses, so I'd love to visit the country that has the 'Valley of Roses'.
I have only just seen this; has there been any progress? I'd like to contribute if I could, I'm English but have spent the past 3 years studying Bulgarian. I would love to have a course available on Duolingo!
I'm a native Bulgarian speaker and I also speak English and Swedish fluently. I wrote to Duolingo about adding Bulgarian to the list with available language courses. I'd be more than happy to contribute and help create it. I did upvote this and many other topics/suggestions. I hope it helps so we can get started.
Awesome idea! I'm British but currently studying medicine at a Bulgarian university (taught in English), and would love a Bulgarian Duolingo course.
Due to the high cost of studying medicine in Western Europe, and the scarcity of places, many international students (nearly 1000 a year) are studying in Bulgaria, unfortunately there's not a great deal of good textbooks or apps to learn Bulgarian, so a lot of students are graduating without having ever learned the language (which is a real shame!) I think Duolingo would really help generate interest in learning Bulgarian with the growing influx of students, so really hope it happens!
I can contribute. Come to think about it, I can motivate 1-2 other people to contribute as well.
Bummer! I was really hoping to come to the Incubator and discover that Bulgarian is in the works.
YES! I am Macedonian Bulgarian and I would be elated to see a Bulgarian course on DL. I live in the diaspora and there are not many resources for learning Bulgarian. I see this as an important opportunity, to have a course here as it would be free and highly effective.
Bulgarian was the first written Slavic language and is spoken by 12 million people around the world. That alone should make Bulgarian a priority for DL. :p
I would love to learn Bulgarian someday. It's definitely not first on my list, but something about it has always appealed to me.
Another "please" from me! My in-laws are Bulgarian -- having something structured to practice around with my partner would be perfect.
I would like for Bulgarian to be on Duolingo. There are barely any websites and many of my relatives speak it, the only problem is i can't speak back due to the time i've spent away from it. I would love to have it on Duolingo so i can speak and master the grammar perfectly.
I would be interested to see how this language would work with the public. On the other hand there might not be enough contributors to do so. It also takes sometime to make a good course, so even if they were to start today it probably wouldn't come out until next year.
I want to contribute to making the course. I know that it will not be easy and it will take some time. Not meny people are seeing this topic. Any way, is there some way just to try?
There are 7 million natives. Certainly there are some who are qualified enough.
Yes. But even so it takes more than knowing a language to be qualified you need to know that language and one that the person who is learning is learning. It also take determination.
My point being, in a European country with 7 million people, there are about to be more than enough people who know English, well. And it's not like there are no Bulgarian immigrants in the US or UK. Most people want to see their language being represented, so among those who know both languages, there will be some who have the determination.
I agree, considering Irish became a reality. People like to embrace their roots.
I'd love this. I just moved to Bulgaria and am trying to learn the language.
I would be happy to contribute. Bulgarian should be on here, it's not like there aren't any other Balkan languages.
For all people who want to contribute and are fluent in bulgarian maybe you could make a bulgarian course
There are several teachers at the school in Sofia I work at who would certainly jump in on this course. Since we bring in several new international teachers each year, the course would definitely have a constant flow of people.
We're all non-Bulgarian speakers so we wouldn't be of much help with creating the course. I know that if there were a course, though, we'd definitely enroll.
We're on our semester break right now, but I think it would be worthwhile to bring this up with our students when we come back in February. They're all Bulgarian and they're really brilliant kids who would enjoy building this course. The only problem is that their time is at a premium between school and other commitments. I'll keep you posted.
To all English speakers, in short the above means: I have prepared page http://kids-read.appspot.com to support a feature request. It can also help us form a team of contributors for the course even before it enters the incubator.
So what's the purpose of this "page"? What will happen once you get 5 people (comments)?
The purpose of this page is to serve as a prototype of the feature I requested. The purpose of the real page - the one to be implemented when Duolingo accepts to support the feature - will be, first, to visualize the process from an application for a course till phase one in the incubator, and second, to track the progress of applications for courses throughout this process. The problem the page solves is with the different understandings of applicants, learners and Duolingo team about the process in this pre-incubator stage. What are the factors that play in choosing which course gets into incubator when? How can applicants improve their preparedness and their chances to get their course started?
I will try to contact the Duolingo team about the feature request when I know there is some support of it among the contributors. My goal is to get 50+ votes in https://www.duolingo.com/comment/16494611 as evidence for that. It currently has 40 votes. Once I make contact with the Duolingo team I will try to get better understanding of the pre-incubator process and will improve the prototype based on that. Until then, the steps I put on the page, including the 5 contributors to form a team piece is just a guess of mine. It just illustrates the idea of tracking progress.
Meanwhile, however, we can use that page to track who is still willing to contribute to a English for Bulgarian speakers or Bulgarian for English speakers course. I wouldn't count on an application or a comment in a discussion made one year ago...
That make for a much better explanation. Thank you! :)
And I totally agree with you. We need more transparency, as it seems like for every course suggestion, there are enough people to provide the necessary contributions to make it, yet nothing (seems to) progress.
I just found this comment https://www.duolingo.com/comment/1627314$comment_id=1658898
So my guess of 5 contributors is off the mark. It seems it takes two qualified moderators to make a team: "Luis: (1) We will let mods start working on them, and it will take some time for them to be built. (2) We will always require at least two qualified mods."
I think of Bulgarian as simplified Russian.
There are no cases (yes!) and the pronunciation is a little simpler. Sentence structure is closer to English because there is a definite article. There are differences, but a lot of words are identical or very similar. Verb tenses, conjugations, and prefixes work almost the same.
I'd say there is a smaller difference between Russian and Bulgarian than between French/Italian/Spanish.
It isn't. Bulgarian is more similar to Balkan languages such as Macedonian or Serbian. The only thing that Bulgarian and Russian share is the Cyrillic alphabet.
There are certainly more similarities than the alphabet. I've studied both to some extent, there are a lot of words that are either the same or similar between both languages. Note that I'm not saying "most words", just many words in common. Language structure does have important differences, including definite articles in Bulgarian (as suffixes, an interesting variation), and no cases in Bulgarian vs cases in Russian.
Yes, but that's like comparing English to Italian. There are some words that are slightly similar and we use the same alphabet, but they're still completely different languages. Russian is very similar to Ukrainian, Belarusian and Bulgarian, as I said, is similar to Balkan languages like Serbian, Croatian, Macedonian etc
I have no argument with that, I just thought you were going a little far when saying that the alphabet was the only thing in common. Successful languages do tend to have a good number of loan words from various sources.
I cannot help get into this fruitful "yes, it is; no, it is not" discussion :) Bulgarian is similar to many languages. Slav languages are too obvious, so let's look into others. Did you know that Bulgarians (mostly around Plovdiv) use the word "gusto", and that Bulgarians would suffix names with "cho" for nicknames just like "juancho"? Yeah, Bulgarian is like Spanish! Quite a few Turkish words are used in the everyday Bulgarian due to historical reasons. Some of my favorite ones are "yasaktir", "yok" and my culinary preference "boza". Yeah, Bulgarian is like Turkish too. We, Bulgarians, followed the strong ones of the day through out the centuries and have many words in common with French like garderobe, confiture, genre (with the French pronunciation); with German like Schnur, Schrift, Landschaft and my favorite Anzug (which means a different thing in Bulgarian); with English like... if you go to a presentation of IT specialists you will be amazed of the number of English words besides pure terminology that go by. So yeah, Bulgarian is also like French, German and English. Enjoy! :)
Yes! Please keep pushing for Bulgarian, there is definitely an interest :)
I am a Bulgarian native speaker and I would love to contribute to the course. Count me in!
I've been waiting to see a Bulgarian course in Duolingo for the longest time. I truly hope it comes out soon! :)
I am eagerly anticipating this one being added. It's the only language I have a strong desire to learn that isn't already available to me, and one I am hoping gets its turn soon.
My wife is Bulgarian, and we want to raise our children to speak it, but this is difficult living the US, and myself not able to speak the language. I would be very interested, as I am very happy with your Spanish offerings.
I'm very interested in seeing a Bulgarian course for English speakers on Duolingo. I visit Bulgaria once a year and really would like to be able to understand and speak the language whilst I'm there.
Let's get this guy in the incubator already. People clearly want this myself included :) Upvote!
I really, REALLY would love to learn Bulgarian and I'm pretty desperate for a course here about it due to the possibility of working in Bulgaria. Duolingo has a teaching tactic that really works with me which other apps and such do not, (also I'm way too shy to use those where you get an actual person as a teacher) so this addition would be a life saver for me. Is there any knowledge of if and when this course will be available?
Hello! I am Bulgarian too! I'd love to help if you need any help! I also have friends who have been wanting and searching for ways to learn Bulgarian, so that will be VERY HELPFUL! :)
I am a native Bulgarian and will be glad to contribute to adding Bulgarian for English and/or French people to the list of Duolingo courses.
I would be interested in learning it. However I won't be able to contribute (as I do not know it) to the course. Make sure that you get lots of audio for it.
It may or may not be too late, but I am one more Bulgarian eager to contribute :) One day, hopefully, this course will happen, but we have to be persistent and increase in number :/
Hi everyone, I'm also a native Bulgarian (but have lived in the U.S. for 12 years) and would be happy to contribute to a Bulgarian for English speakers course. I can also contribute to an English for Bulgarian speakers course.
The thread was started 2 years ago and it seems there are plenty of people willing to contribute and benefit from such a course. It would be helpful if DuoLingo at least releases a roadmap!
For those who are curious, here is a quick preview: http://www.omniglot.com/writing/bulgarian.htm
Native Bulgarian here - I applied for the incubator a while back and would love to see it finally happening. I hope it will be soon! And I love how many people are enthusiastic about learning it :)
I have been on this thread for 3 years. I thought it would of been up and running by now but nothing.
I would help with pleasure. I'm not an expert, but I have the good intention to contribute. Count me in!
Yes :) I forgot to mention that I am a native bulgarian speaker and I was a teacher in primary school so at least for the basic level I have a lot of sentences and phrases ready to use. I am excited to help and in the summer I have a lot of free time. Hope this project works :)
I'd love to contribute to the Bulgarian for English speakers and English for Bulgarian speakers courses.
I would be interested in studying it. :) It's a very beautiful language (and I have some Bulgarian friends so why not?)
I'm a native Bulgarian and would help if such a course was created, since I'm very happy to see so many people interested in learning it!
There are already many applications in the incubator. I have applied myself, too. What I think we need now is to get some transparency on when a course will be scheduled in Duolingo.
Please, vote up the request for this here - https://www.duolingo.com/comment/16494611 . I will try to approach the Duolingo team with this request as soon as I have 50+ supporting votes.
Is there any update on this? I'm impatiently waiting for a Bulgarian course :P
Same! Sadly, no update yet, though. (Side note: I received a reply from them regarding my application for assisting in another course, which I applied for 4 months ago, so we might be hearing something about this "soon".)
i would like that too myself. By the way i was just recently thinking the same thing. If you like i can help.
My father is Bulgarian but he never taught me the language...I've mostly done some self teaching so I would love to have Duolingo work on it!
I am a native Bulgarian speaker, I speak fluent Bulgarian and English i am learning Spanish here at duolingo. I would like to contribute in any way possible for the development of the Bulgarian Course
I applied to teach Bulgarian, do you think there is any chance i would get accepted?
Nobody knows, unfortunately. It seems like the guys at Duolingo are busy doing other things than building their customer base and increasing their market reach.
I am also a native Bulgarian speaker and would love to contribute to a Bulgarian course here should there be one. I have expressed interest on the Incubator before but have still not heard back. Fingers crossed they add it on here soon! :)
I would love a Bulgarian course! Finding resources for Bulgarian is difficult, and Duolingo is ace for learning.
I've been learning Bulgarian for a while, and I would love to be able to practice it using Duolingo.
Study Bulgarian in university and I love the language and it would be of extreme benefit to ahve a duolingo course for Bulgarian here
I know this was some time ago, but I would love to see a Bulgarian for English speakers course.
I'm interested in Bulgarian since I have Bulgarian friends but anyway why not learn that too?
I am also a native Bulgarian speaker and would love to contribute, but even moreso, I'd love to know what I can do to help you get Bulgarian for English speakers in the incubator!
Hello there! Me and my family are planning to move to Bulgaria but we do not know the language so we will not be able to communicate with the people. So we would be grateful to you if you could help us in some way. Thank you very much!! Yours grateful, Tatiana.
I would be very interested in a Bulgarian course for English speakers. I have learned a bit of Bulgarian in the past from books, but duolingo seems a lot more effective.
I recently moved to Bulgaria and I am struggling to learn the language even though I am taking lessons... +1 for Bulgarian in duolingo
I want to learn! There are no good courses for Bulgarian ( in my humble opinion) on the internet. I would love to learn it on Duolingo! My boyfriend is native bulgarian i have asked him to apply for incubator
YES! I have always wanted to learn Bulgarian. My dad speaks it, and I thought it would be fun to talk to my dad in a "secret language".
i would like to see a course of Bulgarian for English learners. i'd give all my lingots for that course!
i cannot speak Bulgarian and would love to learn... i would love if someone Bulgarian could take some time to begin the phases for adding the language
Seems like there are plenty of contributors available judging by the comments, so why is this not happening? I know there are a lot of expats in Bulgaria from the UK, probably not so many norteamericanos. Is Duolingo's market in Europe too weak to make this feasible?
I would really like to learn Bulgarian, it's what I originally signed up for and was hoping to find here... but to my disappointment there was no Bulgarian course (yet). Here's to hoping it'll be added very soon!
I'm Bulgarian and I'd love to contribute! I have already applied and I can see there are a lot of discussions on this topic. Is there any real development?
My husband and I are interested in adopting internationally from Bulgaria, I have to say if they add this course it would be a huge blessing as Mondly and other courses out there for the language pale in comparison to the quality and ease of use that Duolingo and its course building volunteers provide! I do hope Duo gets a Bulgarian course :)
I'm from romania, the neighbour of bulgaria , I'd love to learn our friends' across Danube language
Duolingo, with all this response, WHY haven't you given us a Bulgarian course??????????????
I’d enjoy learning Bulgarian! I’m also learning Russian, Ukrainian, Polish and Czech, so I’d enjoy adding another Slavic language to the list. :)
I am interested. Not that you asked me, but I figured I'd answer. I have a few Bulgarian friends, and out of respect, I'd love to speak their language when I can.
Great motivation! Thanks for sharing! As a native I am always curious why would people like to learn it. P.S. Dir weiter viel Spaß mit dem Deutschlernen =)
You could also try 50languages.com You could choose German as "native" and Bulgarian as "want to learn", if you want to keep practicing your German ;) So start with those two and let me know, if you would like more resources I would gladly see what i could recommend next :D There so many resources I've discovered to learn languages, luckily there are many websites and tools - all for free. It only takes motivation and time. Greets, JV
Thanks so much for these resources. Signed up on Memrise and now working on 50 Languages! I LOVE language learning. So important to at least attempt the native language of the country you're traveling in rather than make yourself look like a fool when you expect someone to understand and speak English.
Sehr gerne! Falls du Übung möchtest - du weißt schon wo die Bulgaren zu finden sind! =) Dir alles Gute! Grüß, JV
Sure, I recommend you - memrise.com ! 1.Register - very easy and quickly to do it; 2. You go to the "Search-courses" button and type "Bulgarian"; 3. There are multiple language courses over there, so you pick one and enjoy, after you finish it, you choose another one; P.S.: The website is about learning anything in every area you could imagine, not only languages. Explore and enjoy! Greets, JV
I probably wouldn't learn it to fluency. I like looking at how related languages change.
I recently wrote Duolingo Incubator about starting a Bulgarian course for English speakers, as well as an English course for Bulgarians. I would be more than willing to contribute! :)
Bulgarian is my favorite slavic language! Your contribution is welcome here.
It could be nice to learn more aspects of Slavic languages... and also surprise my old babysitter and that guy I once developed a bit of a crush on, hah.
I added a feature request for a timetable in the incubator - https://www.duolingo.com/comment/16494611 - if you like it give it a thumb up. I hope that if this one gets implemented into Duolingo incubator we will see an estimated date when courses with Bulgarian will start being worked on.
I would like duolingo to add Bulgarian; so my son can communicate with his Bulgarian parents in law. Do we have enough interest now to get the course to the incubator stage (assuming I have followed the process)? I have completed the French course and found it to be fantastic; I can never be thankful enough for the time you have all taken in making the course available to me. Wonderful application.
I'm interested to learn Bulgarian on Duolingo. Actually I learn Bulgarian with a teachter on italki.
I lived in Bulgaria for a year to teach English, and a Duolingo course would've been a much loved resource for me. Even though I will probably not go back anytime soon, I would still love a course to learn more and refresh the little I did learn!
Bulgarian on duolingo would be amazing!!!! I really hope people who speak Bulgarian would be willing to help people learn their beautiful language!
I'd love to see courses for the European languages taught in Bulgarian! The interest will be big, I'm definitely sure!
yes!!!! I would love this course! I have Bulgarian family and I want to be able to talk to them!
Native Bulgarian speaker here. One of my friends would like to learn Bulgarian and has even bought a self-study book. Hopefully Duolingo can give her an additional opportunity to learn the language in a fun way. Personally, I would love the help in making the course.
I'd like to have it on Duolingo so I can practice. As a bilingual abroad I do not have many opportunities to practice my native language. I can contribute as well but I'm not as confident as in my other native language. Bulgarian to English (Bulgarian for English speakers) sounds like a project I can help work on..
I'm very interested! After using Memrise and many other language learning apps I would be really excited to see Bulgarian come to Duolingo. It's a great platform.
Is there anything I can do to help promote this?
My partner is a native speaker, and fluent in English, so she would be very happy to help.
I want to learn Bulgarian so bad. Please, do it. It's such an amazing language and culture.
I would love to learn bulgarian! I have tried without duolingo for some time and it's really difficult.
Just adding another 'yes please' to Bulgarian. Mnogo blagodarya. Interested in the language primarily because I am a big fan of the folk music from the country, in case you wanted to know.
Yes, please start doing a Bulgarian course! I've just moved tp Bulgaria and want to learn the language
I know the feeling... I've been checking all the 'Duolingo Bulgarian' forums for about a year and a half now! There's clearly a huge amount of interest from potential contributors, I really hope they start this soon...
My sister lives in Bulgaria and I would like to learn it to communicate with her husband
Hey ya all. I would love to learn Bulgarian. My girlfriend is Bulgarian and I want to be able to communicate with her family. I have been trying to learn from a book/cd but Duolingo would be perfect for sneaking in some practice. Duolingo please help make this happen. Thanks in advance to both the course volunteers and Duolingo.
I would be interested in a Bulgarian language course! If the project is still going I would be one to take it for sure.
I am half Bulgarian and half Ukrainian and i speak Russian English and Ukrainian i would really like to learn Bulgarian for the sake of completion
I would love to learn Bulgarian. I'm learning Romanian at present and would be so happy to add Bulgarian also. I hope lessons will be available soon.
I would be happy to help with the development :) Bulgarian for English or English for Bulgarian speakers
Howdy! I'm currently learning Bulgarian mostly offline, but Duolingo should include it. Yes, most young people here speak English (or another language) at a decent level, but learning it is an interesting journey and it sounds beautiful.
I would gladly learn it! I see this was posted 3 years ago. Hopefuly some progress is made.
I want to learn the basics of the greatest number possible of Slavic languages, that way they do not fade from memory as easily and are easier to go through. It has been proven true so far for Czech, Russian, Polish and Ukrainian.
Any news? I don't speak Bulgarian, but is there any way that I can help the movement?
I would love to have this language on here to learn as it is hard to find anything online that is credible or has enough content beyond just the alphabet.
Someone has made a duolingo styled course in Bulgarian over at memrise, which is good. I would be very careful about any of the other apps with Bulgarian courses as they seem to be money grabbers and only give you tourist Bulgarian.
Hi, Any chance of Bulgarian for English speakers being added any time soon? Many thanks.
I am half Bulgarian and want to learn more of my fathers language, I have been waiting for a Bulgarian course for English speakers for ages. Please create one!!!
It's good, but not so much as duolingo as it requires a LOT of typing in both English and Bulgarian Cyrillic. Unless you are a touch typist or fast at hunt-n-peck (my wife is not, she's the one who needs Bulgarian lessons) then it's going to be painstakingly slow.
In the forum there is now a guide for the people who wish new courses in Duolingo - https://forum.duolingo.com/comment/15014194
In this guide, there are links to topics with requests for specific courses. The idea is, for each desired course there to be a single leading topic, which should get all the support (including votes) for the course.
So, they selected the following topics as leading for the requested courses related to Bulgarian language:
- the topic https://forum.duolingo.com/comment/3576880 for the course "English for Bulgarian speakers"
- the CURRENT topic (https://forum.duolingo.com/comment/5115906) for the course "Bulgarian for English speakers"
So, if you want to support these courses, give your votes and/or comments in these 2 topics - there they will be most effective!
Във форума вече има ръководство за желаещите нови курсове в Duolingo - https://forum.duolingo.com/comment/15014194
- темата https://forum.duolingo.com/comment/3576880 за курса "English for Bulgarian speakers"
I'm an English speaker and am very interested in learning Bulgrian on Duolingo. I travel to Bulgaria fairly often so it would be really useful. I have yet to find a self-study method as effective as Duolingo. I'd definitely sign up for plus if I could study Bulgarian along with my other languages.
Very interested in this. Learning Russian and Polish now mostly because there was no Bulgarian on and I figured they might help me get started for a (hopefully) eventual Bulgarian course.
I've been living in Bulgaria for a few years now and found it hard to learn the language. Private tutoring is too expensive, most online courses are just about learning some word lists and since I'm working, having some day courses isn't an option as well.
Having taken the German course here, I'm really keen on the format of these courses and would love to see a Bulgarian course added here.
Don't know why with all this positive feedback to add this language for over 4 years now, why this course hasn't been added yet?
I know this is old ,but go for it Bulgarian is the only slavic language I think I can learn and I want to learn.
I found this site in another thread about Bulgarian and it's really good. I wish Duolingo had a Bulgarian course but this one is the next best thing: https://www.bulgaro.io
It's very similar to Duolingo and gives you automatic feedback that is very good at telling you what mistakes you make.
imo, it's even better than duolingo, since it also offers a portion of grammar in each chapter, I love the system of the rehearsal excercises where you get to repeat a selection of excercises from all chapters you've completed.
Little downside imo compared to Duolingo would be that there's maybe too few variations in the excercises, repeating the exact same sentence again and again, so at one point, you're just learning solutions by heart, rather than solving the problems.
I would love to learn Bulgarian! I am really interested in Russian and love to compare and contrast the two languages
i'm apologizing beforehand if you may feel offended of what i'm going to say. But seeing your comment , and me as a native bulgarian, in my own oppinion, these two lnguages sound, nor look nothing alike.
Sure, they are very different languages, but I remember that during my first introduction to Bulgarian I was thinking: "okay, so it uses the Cyrillic alphabet like Russian, it sounds like Russian, and it clearly shares a lot of words with Russian."
i really really really want to learn bulgarian, which is why i am doing turkish, because it is somewhat close, i think, i speak english and spanish perfectly, and some portuguese.
