I'm on the final stretch of this Danish course. I wish to express my gratitude to all the dysfunctional/violent/alcoholic badgers, bears, and ducks who made this all possible.

I actually 100% Agree with you! xD I've seen just enough alcoholic crabs, badgers, bears, and ducks by now! :P This Danish Course is awesome, and I went back to this lesson just to see what people thought about this sentence! xD 10/10 Danish is The Best Course on DuoLingo!

The Danish course is definitely more entertaining than some of the others. Occasionally, though, on an audio question I find myself thinking "did I REALLY just hear that?". In this case yes, yes I did.

Is this a viking custom?

In old times, we had a lot of candy on our christmas trees, which is what was eaten. Now the expression only really exists in the christmas song Højt fra træets grønne top:

    • Først skal træes vises, siden skal det spises.

This reminds me of the Yuletide log.

After enough beer, so they're drunk enough to not notice the difference between actual food and the Christmas tree?

When you just can't handle any more pork, you'll eat anything.

Then shall the Christmas tree be eaten would be one way to express this in English.

There needs to be a lot more flexibility with what is accepted in English for this one. I'm always getting it wrong because my words aren't placed exactly the way Duo wants.

This is what happens when you spend Christmas with relatives who have beavers
